hey Don I'm running bc broncos three and a half suspension with a two and a half body lift. I also run a wristed arm and rancho 9000s on 37s. I have degree c bushings and the wild horses 10degree radius arm bushings. check out senor Azul in the photo gallery. Also Joe Lopez runs the same set up. Ask Paul Cotey about how much flex you can get out of a writes arm. That's a shot of Paul's in the pic...hope this helps welcome to eb world
A new set of bronco specific springs will really wake up your EB. Welcome to the club!
Rancho has a good reputation for jeeps and full size trucks, but their EB springs are known to be very stiff and old school. I'd check with Duff's or WH for some better coils or go whole hog and get some coil overs!
what did you end up swapping to Walter? I'm kind of hoping that I can just change out the shocks for some bilsteins and wrist the pass radius arm and then do the shackle flip and longer shackles in the rear and have that work good enough for some decent flex for the wheeling season. its got some anti-wrap bars in the rear that seem to work decently so i think i'd be alright in the rear. I'm just way too busy with work to dive into a 3 link/4 link, not to mention i'd really like to use 1 tons when i do all that.
I had the same suspension on mine in the beginning. It is what is limiting it.
It is definitely different, mainly having a healthy v8 instead of a weak 4 cylinder pumping all of 80 hp. My biggest gripe is the complete lack of flex, I think mainly due to being a Rancho suspension kit, as far as I can tell. I need to pull the shocks off and flex it and see if its the shocks that are restricting the articulation. The rear's got 5 inch lift blocks, so my plan there is to do a shackle flip and use longer shackles to get the ride height level. Should pick up a good amount of flex from that too. I don't need a ramp queen but right now it only flexes up and down a couple inches lol.
Don, Welcome!

Looks like you wheeled it pretty hard at Hidden Falls. I think your going to like wheeling a Bronco now - it's probably a bit different than wheeling a yota or a jeep especially with that 351! The Texas Bronco people are a good bunch of folks. Hope to see you at K2 next month.
Recently picked up a 1975 Ford Bronco crawler, actually traded a 1972 Buick Skylark GS for it. It's got alot of good parts in it, a 351W with a cam and intake on propane, stock 3 spd and D20, built D44 and 9 inch with 5.38 gears, 38.5 Swamper SX's, a Rancho lift kit with a 3 inch body lift, full hydro steering and a family cage. The suspension is one of the first things that I'm going to rework, probably by taking off the body lift and figuring out how to make it flex better with what I have. I'll probably get some Bilstein 5100s because the shocks are stiff as heck. My long term goal is to go with 1 tons, linked front and rear with some 42s. I'm not new to either the Ford world or crawlers, I've had a bunch of toyota and jeep crawlers, as well as a bunch of Mustangs (mostly fox bodies and a 94 Lightning). I plan on being out at Hidden Falls as much as I can this year while the weather is nice, as well as going to K2 and Canyons as my work schedule allows. Here's some pics of the Bronco.
